Frangipani is a deciduous shrub or small tree from famili apocynaceae , originally native to Mexico, Central America, Colombia and Venezuela. This plant then has been widely spread and cultivated in subtropical and tropical regions. Its other name is temple tree, plumeria and Cambodia tree. Frangipani is well known for its intensely unique fragrant which is produced from its flowers. It is also the national tree of Laos and Nicaragua. Plumeria rubra is a frangipani’s scientific name.
Morphology
Frangipani is a shrub or small tree which can grow up to 7- 8 m. It has a symmetrical canopy with a regular (or smooth) outline. The leaf of frangipani is simple, pinnate, green, elliptic (oval) or obovate with entire and undulate margin. The leaves arrangement is alternate and frangipani is a deciduous tree which means that its leaves will fall in a mass amount in certain periods.
